6 Signs of Adrenaline Dominance (and what to do about it)

Dr. Michael Platt M.D. talks a lot about how fascinating our bodies are and some steps to take get to the source and heal our bodies. He wrote the Adrenaline Dominance Book – A Revolutionary Approach to Wellness, which talks about how to recognize signs of adrenaline dominance in our bodies and how to fix these issues. This is something I had never even heard of, so of course I DOVE INTO this plethora of information. He says there are some fairly simple fixes in order to even everything out–(sign me up!).

Here are some signs that you may have adrenaline dominance:

  • Fatigue
  • Sleep issues
  • Belly fat/blood sugar issues
  • Overactive Bladder/Frequent Urination
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Brain fog/ADHD

He also says that highly creative people and those with ADHD have adrenaline dominance–who knew?!

In the episode #33 by The Adrenal Fatigue Podcast, the hostesses ask ALL THE QUESTIONS regarding this subject. They talk about cortisol–if you have raised levels of cortisol, then adrenaline dominance is raised as well, and what that means for your body. Dr. Platt even talks about colicky babies and how that’s a sign of adrenaline dominance (yes, even in babies!). He also talks about “easy fixes,” in his opinion. Well, I was sold!

Here are some of his recommendations:

  • Organic MCT Oil (since adrenaline is basically raised glucose levels in the brain, this will balance those glucose levels and helps the ketones levels as well.
  • Eating the foods that are meant for your body–green leafy veggies are best! (eating what God made, vs. Manmade)
  • Progesterone Cream is the MECA! Dr. Platt goes in DEPTH about this– it’s worth listening to and reading about. It can be used on adults, children, even pets! As with many things, not everything is created equal–his motto is QUALITY, which is why I chose Dr. Platt’s medical-grade progesterone cream.

Dr. Platt also explains how to apply the progesterone cream as well. Isn’t this fascinating?! I just ordered my cream. I will let y’all know how I feel and I plan on using it on my entire family (dogs included!).

Parasite Cleanse 101

Here is a list of the products I use during my parasite cleanse. Side note, did you know that the United States is one of the only countries that doesn’t push or educate people about parasite cleanses?! Yep! And we should be doing these at least once a year. AT LEAST. Here is what I use and love. And actually, parasites have shown to be the most active during a full moon. Sante health and wellness has a great article about that. Here is what I use and love. As always, please consult with your practitioner (preferable naturopathic doctor) to go over what is best for YOU, since everyone is different. I do my cleanse for a month, and that is perfect for ME.

  • Intestinal Edge (2-3 times a day. Try to get it on an empty stomach. The bottle is a 7 week cleanse)
  • Activated Charcoal (take when you experience die-off symptoms, follow the bottle for instructions)
  • Drink LOTS of water. Preferably with a PH of at least 8.5
  • Mag07 (take at night IF you feel constipated)
  • Eat CLEAN! Think of nature’s rainbow–Lean protein, lots of veggies, a serving of fruit. Zero processed foods.

Easy Fall Pumpkin Bites

As the weather changes, it’s nice to have a delicious seasonal treat for you to share with your friends and family. I got this recipe from PuraTHRIVE’s email chain and I just fell in LOVE! Who doesn’t love when seasons change and comforting and familiar tastes step in? I DO!

Try this three step, no bake recipe for Turmeric Pumpkin Bites! It includes PuraTHRIVE’s Micelle Liposomal Curcumin Gold to give it even more energy boosting nutrients!

Getting started — what you will need:

¾ cup peanut or nut butter of your choice

⅓ cup pumpkin puree

1 ½ cups rolled oats

1 tbsp maple syrup or honey

1 tbsp pumpkin spice (combine cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg)

1 tbsp PuraTHRIVE’s Micelle Liposomal Curcumin Gold (or 1 tbsp turmeric paste OR minced turmeric)

1 tbsp chia seeds

t tbsp ground flax seeds

½ cup mini chocolate chips or raisins

Instructions: easy as 1, 2, 3

  1. In a large bowl stir together the nut butter, pumpkin puree, rolled oats, maple syrup, pumpkin spice, ground flax, Curcumin Gold, chia seeds, and chocolate chips.
  2. Mix in any other optional add-ins you might like: pumpkin seeds, chopped walnuts, chopped almonds, chopped pecans, raisins, hemp seeds, coconut flakes, etc.
  3. Roll mixture into balls and place on a baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before digging in!
