Hey there! My name is Katie and I’m so happy you are here! I’m a mommy to three little ones, wife to an amazing husband, a professional photographer, a former educator, chronic researcher certified gut health practitioner and so many other things! We are originally from the amazing state of Wisconsin (ALWAYS a Packer fan), now living in gorgeous North Carolina, finding our way in the south. I started this journey of healing my body about eight years ago. I was frustrated with not being able to lose weight after having my kids and I just knew there was more going on in my body that was prohibiting progress. We had three babies in under three years, so I knew my hormones were out of control. I was experiencing sleep anxiety while still being exhausted. I was working out incredibly hard and the scale was not budging. I was on a calorie deficit and still nothing. I tried counting points, counting macros, counting calories–NOTHING! So I started my research. I was blown away that there was so much information out there about adrenal fatigue, hormone imbalances, autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammation, all of which could be contributing to how I was feeling and why the scale was stuck. The more I researched, the more I found that everything could be healed with proper nutrition and in some cases supplements. I found how different foods work differently with each person’s unique body chemistry. Well, it has been quite a rabbit hole of endless information that all just clicked! I have worked with some of the best nutritionists in the business (in my humble opinion). This information all may lead me on a road to becoming a health coach–who knows!
Why Organic Chaos? Organic can mean many things–clean, pure, natural, original, healthy–combined with chaos. Chaos with being a mommy, chaos with everyday life, chaos with all the information that is out there, chaos with my so-called niche. You know–CHAOS. When my grandma was on her death bed and I was talking with her and holding her hand, my kids were running all round the room acting crazy. I said “I’m so sorry for all the chaos, grandma.” She squeezed my hand and said “Katie–Chaos IS living.” That statement really burned an impression on my heart, so Organic Chaos was born.
